Dr. Longworth is a preferred Invisalign provider, which means he has the more experience and has done the most cases in our area.
After an initial examination, your orthodontist will decide if this product is right for you. To get started with Invisalign your dentist will take typical records which consist of impressions of your teeth, pictures and x-rays of you and then submit them to Invisalign with your prescription.
Invisalign carefully translates your doctor’s instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners. Once the aligners are placed for the patient you continue to wear each set of aligners for two weeks. The teeth move gradually, week by week, millimeter by millimeter, until you have reached the intended result straighter teeth.
The duration of your treatment depends on the severity of your teeth. The farther out of alignment the teeth are the longer it takes to correct them. Once the patient is familiar with the aligners the visits become less frequent. A typical patient can go six to 10 weeks between visits.
As with traditional braces, the cost of Invisalign will depend on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment. Patients are expected to wear their removable aligners full time or no less then 22 hours a day. The aligners should only be removed to eat meals, brush your teeth and put them back in. There are no metal wires or brackets, which makes Invisalign comfortable. Since it is removable, eating, brushing and flossing are no problem.
